Little
BearLittle Bear invites your children into a world of
adventure that’s full of warmth, love and friendship.
Little Bear, the series, is about the warm cocoon that childhood should be
and about the spirited adventures of a curious, imaginative, inventive,
little bear and his friends. Most importantly, Little Bear is about play.
In an ideal world, early childhood is a paradise, offering enchanted
friendships, communion with nature, unconditional love, imaginative
exploration and magical discovery. Little Bear has this very childhood. From
the safe and loving home provided by his parents, Little Bear is able to
roam freely across the landscape, exploring and playing in the purest sense
of the words. In this supportive environment, anchored in love and
understanding, Little Bear thrives. Though many of us do not experience such
an idealistic childhood, complete with enchanted woods to roam in, children
will have the opportunity to form bonds with characters who can open up the
world for them in a wondrous way. Little Bear becomes a lifelong friend to
children, offering them a picture of the creativity and inner sources of
love and comfort that all children possess.
Completely comfortable in his own fur, Little Bear takes bold steps toward
independence that his parents encourage and delight in; they are wholly
there for him, never holding back their love or support as he grows up.
Little Bear eagerly tackles everyday problems, taking pride in his efforts,
efforts that become a source of joy. He is not daunted by obstacles but
approaches each challenge with excitement, humor and interest. At the end of
every day, he always has something to share with Mother Bear.
The stories are small and are playful moments from a child’s world of
emotional largeness and unbridled imagination. These are the moments that
grown-ups forget that they, too, experienced, but for a child (or a little
bear), add up to nothing more than a good day.
Little Bear is not an obviously educational show but is a learning
experience, teaching by example. It is all about being open, curious and
imaginative. Stories often emerge from Little Bear’s powers of observation,
discoveries he makes with his friends Hen, Duck, Cat, and Owl. His
curiosity, creativity, and his playful freedom allow him to enrich his
palette and become his own master. Little Bear is a natural learner who
encourages his viewers to tap into their own, inherant ability to find joy
in a discovery and understanding. His stories are about this happy process.
This series is a natural classic.
Little Bear is about a friendly, curious Little Bear discovering the world
around him with his wonderful animal friends. Little Bear is based on the
Caldecott Honored books written by Else Minarik, and illustrated by Award
Winning Maurice Sendak (‘Where The Wild Things Are’).
